Using Sender Identifiers

For details on how to get started with eHealth Ontario messages, please refer to the Getting Started section.  This page is to guide you on the process of adding the required Unique Sender Identifier to an existing message.

 

Using V2

  1. Locate your 'Unique Sender Identifier'
    1. Log in to Innovation Lab
      Note: If you have just registered, please make sure that you have confirmed your registration through email prior to log in.
    2. Navigate to our Test Harness
      Note: If this is your first time, you have to accept the Terms and Conditions
    3. Locate your 'Unique Sender Identifier' on the top left hand corner of the Test Harness
  2. Embed your Unique Sender Identifier and the Terms of Use statement in the message – where you embed it depends on the selected registry and the message type.
    For example: modify the message to include your Unique Sender Identifier and the Terms of Use statement e.g.:

Using V3

  1. Locate your 'Unique Sender Identifier'
    1. Log in to Innovation Lab
      Note: If you have just registered, please make sure that you have confirmed your registration through email prior to log in.
    2. Navigate to our Test Harness
      Note: If this is your first time, you have to accept the Terms and Conditions
    3. Locate your 'Unique Sender Identifier' on the top left hand corner of the Test Harness
  2. Embed your Unique Sender Identifier and the Terms of Use statement in the message – where you embed it depends on the selected registry and the message type.
    For example: modify the <sender> element to include your Unique Sender Identifier and the Terms of Use statement e.g.:

Using FHIR

  1. Locate your 'Unique Sender Identifier'
    1. Log in to Innovation Lab
      Note: If you have just registered, please make sure that you have confirmed your registration through email prior to log in.
    2. Navigate to our Test Harness
      Note: If this is your first time, you have to accept the Terms and Conditions
    3. Locate your 'Unique Sender Identifier' on the top left hand corner of the Test Harness
  2. Add your Unique Sender Identifier and the Terms of Use statement to your HTTP Header
    For example, your HTTP Header would include the following values (in addition to any other header values that may be required for the registry): 

    X-Sender-Id: UniqueSenderIdentifier
    X-License-Text: I hereby accept the service agreement here: https://innovation-lab.ca/media/1147/innovation-lab-terms-of-use.pdf
